Role & Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Printhead Development Manager to lead our dynamic team at our company location in Berlin. The ideal candidate will possess a strong and compelling technical background in inkjet, coupled with exceptional people management and organisational skills.

The candidate will closely collaborate with the managers of the Mechanical Engineering, Material Development, Electronics and Firmware, Writing System, and the core Business team (Program Manager, Product Manager and Chief Engineer) in developing printing inkjet printheads using our proprietary inkjet technology. The successful candidate will in addition maintain and nurture a close relationship with our printhead manufacturing partner in the UK.
Regular travel between Berlin, Cambridge and Barcelona will be necessary.

Your Responsibilities will be:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the printhead development team, ensuring project milestones are met and aligned with company objectives
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate between the two team locations to ensure seamless communication and workflow integration
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing technical guidance and career growth opportunities
  • Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling to maximize efficiency and productivity in close collaboration with the Program Manager
  • Proactively recruit and manage external resources needed to conduct core business deliverables (contractors, local suppliers, test services)
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
  • Drive strategic planning and implementation of engineering processes and standards

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering field
  • Proven experience in managing engineering teams, with a track record of successful project delivery
  • Demonstrable deep experience in inkjet printhead design, manufacturing and use
  • Strong technical expertise in engineering principles and design, including concept and architecture
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to navigate organisational structures and build relationships across locations
  • Proficient in project management practice and tools
