2. INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE OF THE PROCESSING / HOW DO WE USE YOUR DATA?

When you visit our website, your browser automatically sends information to the server and temporarily stores it. These are the
following data:

  • The operating system of the device used to access the site
  • The name of the access provider

Temporary storage is necessary to ensure the smooth connection of our website and convenient use. These data are not stored together with other personal data of the user.

3. THE LEGAL BASIS OF THE PROCESSING OPERATION / ON WHAT BASIS DO WE PROCESSYOUR PERSONAL DATA?

The use of the Internet pages of Quantica GmbH is possible without providing any personal data; however, if you want to use special services on our website, processing of personal data could become necessary.

According to the law, we must tell you the «legal bases» on which we process your personal data. These are the following: (i) your consent, e.g. if you have given your consent to the sending of the newsletter, (ii) within the framework of a contractual agreement, e.g. when placing an order, (iii) due to a legal obligation, e.g. due to tax legislation and (iv) if we have a legitimate interest in doing so, e.g. maintaining contacts and protecting your interests. The wording of the legal basis can be found in Art. 6 ff. GDPR (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b DSGVO). This - Article 6 - serves as the legal basis:

For the processing of personal data required for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party, including pre-contractual measures;

  • Insofar as the processing of personal data is necessary to fulfil a legal obligation to which our company is subject;
  • If we obtain the consent of the data subject for the processing of personal data;
  • If the processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of our company or a third party, or of the data subject, and if the interests, fundamental rights and fundamental freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh the first-mentioned interest.

4. CATEGORIES OF RECIPIENTS / WHO ELSE WILL RECEIVE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

We take care of your personal data and only pass it on to third parties if this is necessary to ensure that we fulfill your request. We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.

NEWSLETTER: We can also use your email address to send you our newsletter with full details of our new developments, current offers, and other news. This only happens if you have given us your consent. You can revoke this consent via the «Unsubscribe» link at the end of each newsletter or contact us using the contact details above. If you have given us your consent to use your personal data, you can revoke your consent at any time.

THIRD PARTY PROVIDERS AND SITES: We do not share your personal data with third parties without your explicit permission or authorization. Our online content may contain links to the websites of other providers. Quantica has no influence on the compliance of these providers with the statutory data protection provisions. Therefore, you should always check the other providers’ privacy statement.

INTERNATIONAL DATA PRIVACY: We prefer to keep your personal data as private as possible. However, if it is necessary to pass on your personal data to parties outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we will only do this if a special legal exception applies or if so-called appropriate security precautions have been taken. These reasonable safeguards ensure that your personal data is used outside the EEA in accordance with European standards.

5. DATA RETENTION PERIOD / HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

We generally discard information about you when it’s no longer needed for the purposes for which we collect and use it — described in the section above Introduction and purpose of the processing — and we’re not legally required to keep it.

In the case of newsletter registration, the user’s email address will be stored as long as the newsletter subscription is active.

The legal obligation to store data in accounts receivable and sales files exists for a period of ten years. This means that - following a commercial transaction - we always store personal data such as your name, your email address, your address, your payment data, your telephone number, the commercial register, and the VAT identification number for ten years.

6. QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL DATA

If your personal data is incorrect, you can ask us to correct it at any time. If you would like to see your personal data or receive a copy, this is also possible.   • Opt out of marketing communications: You may opt out of receiving promotional communications from us. Just follow the instructions in those communications or let us know. If you opt out of promotional communications, we may still send you other communications, like legal notices.

Along with our product development, we’re still working on a better website.
